Education

“We should look squarely at education in an effort to heal the social crises rampant in our society.”
 —Master Hsuan Hua

One of the main focuses of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association is education. Educational facilities include schools for children as well as Buddhist training programs, a university and a young adults group. Our elementary and secondary schools work to instill and develop core virtues in our students. We strive to provide an environment where students can achieve their full academic potential as well as become outstanding citizens who contribute to making our world a more peaceful place.

The Sangha and Laity Training Programs are vocational training programs for current and aspirant members of the Buddhist Sangha and for Buddhist laymen and laywomen. The programs aim to provide a solid foundation in Buddhist studies and practice for those whose goal is an occupation in a Buddhist institution or community setting, in social service areas, or in educational institutions.

The Dharma Realm Buddhist University is a small private school focusing on education deeply rooted in a timeless Buddhist tradition that remains closely engaged in the modern world. The curriculum, the discussions, the overall thrust of every program is to creatively and honestly infuse ancient wisdom into contemporary life.

College students and young adults trying to apply Buddhist principles in their daily life come together in the Dharma Realm Buddhist Young Adults.
